Russian defender of the NHL club Nikita Zaitsev feared reprisals to the fan – November 19, 2022

It’s been a tough start to the season for the Ottawa Senators after a fantastic offseason, of course, when the team bounced back. “Sens” lingered in place in the Atlantic division NHL with depressing it turns out – only 5 wins in 15 games. Of course, this is not at all what the team expected after adding the likes of Alex Debrinkat, Claude Giroud and Cam Talbot last summer.
However, be that as it may, all three players turned out to be exactly as advertised. Giroud leads in scoring with 8 goals and 17 points, Debrinkat is not far behind with 4 goals and 9 assists, and Talbot has a consistent percentage shot percentage (92.1%).
However, Ottawa has a lot of problems on the blue line. And one of these threats will be published for the “Senators” Nikita Zaitsev. The 31-year-old Russian defender only played seven games on this occasion, despite capping a hefty $4.5 million this year and next. Both fans and observers in the media were unhappy with Nikita’s games, and the most unexpected thing is that Zaitsev, apparently, lost his nerve.
One fan, an anonymous social media user who is on the Senators’ Everyday Sens account, shared some private messages he received from Zaitsev and his family members. This happened after he made a meme and parodied Zaitsev. Events in the last personal case, Zaitsev threatens him, asking for a “face to face” meeting with him.
Useful for the fan, a message came from Nikita’s father Igor Zaitsev, which contains a large number of pictures with a significant and Russian tricolor. Then the text came into play.
“You insulted my son, you put up a vile post. You made one person guilty. The last matches are marked that you are an amateur, and Nikita is an honest player. And the whole family is worried because of your filthy comments, you are a liar.– there are such words in Russia.
Then Nikita himself joined in. Rather. the messages were sent from his verified account, but it is quite possible that Zaitsev himself will claim that one of his relatives wrote or that the social network was hacked.
“Do you want to meet me face to face tomorrow? Come on, answer me. I want to see you in person right now. It’s time to become a man. Good luck with your future memes. And if you want to say something about my game, then come and talk. I’m open for you 24/7″ Zaitsev wrote.
No official reaction from the club has yet been disclosed, the league is also silent. After several cases of infection and bullying in Western society are very strongly condemned, a Russian can have a lot of trouble. Actually, they already are – Ottawa sent him to the farm club, although a hockey player with a large salary on a unilateral contract does not give any savings by playing in the AHL.
Zaitsev with a fan was given out by the official website of the scandalous podcast Spittin’ Chiclets. It wasn’t written by Ryan Whitney or Paul Bissonette – they don’t post themselves – but their editorial team turned out to be humorous.
“Zaitsev is not at all in the mood, since some fans upset him so much. Just because you’re a fan doesn’t mean you can do or say whatever you want without repercussions. You can’t play the innocent victim when you voluntarily shit on a guy. The idea that athletes are allowed with a fan for a year without any repercussions has been floated before, and I fully agreed with that. And given what Nikita mentioned…,” the podcast website says.
However, Nikita, who meets in the NHL, is still quite capable of resuscitating. The contract will be valid for two more seasons, the injury of Thomas Chabot gives a chance to return to the main team. Lose or discard at least until the summer.
