Pamier. BMX indoor: the riders were on deck in Avignon
Head to Avignon for an international indoor BMX competition, a major event of the year in the discipline. Three days of competition under the marquee of the BMX Race at the exhibition center of the city of the popes. Four drivers from Appame were on the starting grid and on deck in the company of more than a thousand drivers from France and all over Europe with nearly 1,000 starts per day on the weekend challenge.
It was Iban, Castille and Célia Porée who opened the ball for the Appamean colours. Célia reached the semi-final and thus achieves a very good result as a girl’s pupil. Iban does not go very far from qualifying as a youngest. For the second day, the pilots were again engaged. Célia does not come out of the heats despite good races in super-kid girls (girls aged 9 to 12) Iban Castille falls in super-kid boys.
Then it’s time for supercross with Mathéo Porée (boys 13 to 16). It does not come out of the sleeves, mechanical breakage and must stop. He will have his revenge in a new minimal category race on the third day by climbing to sixth place in the semi-finals. Finally, a great performance from Willow Camps who climbed to the 8th finals in the open men’s elite, and was able to race with experienced world-class pilots. The Zero Nine BMX staff were there to encourage their proteges. Pierre-Yves Sagorin the president underlines: “The Avignon indoor allowed our pilots to ride with their idols and rub shoulders with them. It’s always a great and beautiful competition with a lot of animations and exchanges around the BMX universe.”
In short, an excellent experience to live. Challenges and challenges continue for the Zero Nine pilots competing this weekend in Brittany at Saint-Brieuc in the French championship.
