«Demanding truth for Giulio Regeni is a moral and civic duty in the name of the rights, freedom and equality of every citizen and for all those who do not find justice or peace in the world», says Mirko Filippini, vice president of the Seventh District and promoter of the naming of a public bench after Giulio Regeni. His proposal, which became a motion later voted in favor by the Parlamentino, is an administrative act that underlines the commitment of the entire Traguardi civic movement towards the protection of rights, solidarity and shared memory.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the president of the Seventh Circumscription, Carlo Pozzerle. «With this initiative, the Seventh District, and more generally the city of Verona, reinforce their voice within the political and opinion movement that calls for light to be shed and for the truth to be told on the case of Giulio Regeni, who has become the emblem of a whose courage and commitment are often unjustly underestimated. His example and all of his work speaks to us of the importance of protecting individual and social rights, which by their nature are for everyone or are not for anyone.
