The Russian Museum displays paintings by Repin in Vladivostok
For the first time in Vladivostok, the creative heritage of the Russian painter Ilya Repin will be presented on a large scale. The exposition will include more than eighty laws of painting and graphics from the museums of Russia and Belarus, as well as archival documents and memorabilia of the artist.
Thirty-four paintings from the collection of the Russian Museum arrived at the Primorsky Art Gallery. Among them are the paintings “The Wedding of Nicholas II and Grand Duchess Alexandra Feodorovna”, portraits of Sergei Witte, Vladimir Stasov, “Self-portrait”, as well as sketches for the paintings “Barge haulers on the Volga”, “A.S. Pushkin at the act in the Lyceum on January 8, 1815 year” and “The Resurrection of the daughter of Jairus.”
At the exhibition, visitors will get acquainted with the recognized masterpieces of Repina, as well as with lesser fame in the circle of work with different periods of the master’s work. In the seven halls of the Main Enfilades of Primorskaya, portraits of prominent figures of the era, historical and genre paintings, sketches for the artist’s “textbook” works, and many other works by Repin are of interest.
A special place in the exhibition is given to personal items, lost artists, as well as archival materials and photographs from the collections of the Scientific Archive of the Russian Academy of Arts.
