COMEX held its 74th plenary meeting
The Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages held its 74th plenary meeting from 15 to 18 November 2022 in Strasbourg.
During the meeting, the Committee adopted three evaluation reports on the application of the Charter by Sweden, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, which will be transmitted to the authorities for possible comments within two months of transmission. . States’ reports and comments will then be made public and submitted to the Committee of Ministers.
The Committee also held an exchange of views with the Executive Director of the Council of Europe Observatory on History Teaching in Europe, Aurora AILINCAI, who presented the mission and objectives of the Observatory and answered the questions.
This 74th plenary meeting was the last meeting to be attended by Ion DIACONU (Romania). On behalf of the Committee and the Secretariat, Aleksandra OSZMIAŃSKA-PAGETT, Chairperson of the Committee, warmly thanked him for his valuable contribution to the work of the Committee over the years. It also welcomed new members: Aline KUNZ (Switzerland), Benjamin QUADERER (Liechtenstein) and Jussi YLIKOSKI (Finland).
The Committee will hold its next plenary meeting in March 2023 in Strasbourg.
