The Toulouse airport platform recorded 1,905,338 commercial passengers transported in the 3rd quarter of 2022, marked by the strong presence of international traffic and by growing demand in Europe and the Maghreb. Building on this enthusiasm, the platform’s traffic stood at 76.5% of that of the same period in 2019.
National traffic in the 3rd quarter at Toulouse-Blagnac represents 786,947 passengers (73.6% of Q3 2019), i.e. 41.3% of the airport’s commercial flights (-1.6 pts vs Q3 2019) and 1,118,391 passengers for international traffic (78.7% of Q3 2019).
The share of traffic in Paris (27.1%) was maintained compared to that of Q3 2019. Some 515,642 passengers traveled between Toulouse and the capital (74.5% of Q3 2019), with the Toulouse line – Paris-Orly which retains its leading position (330,227 passengers transported, i.e. 75.8% of Q3 2019).
The provincial lines, mainly served by low-cost companies (81.5% of regional traffic) welcomed 271,305 passengers (71.9% of Q3 2019). The attraction for low-cost companies was once again confirmed in the 3rd quarter, with traffic up 6% compared to 2019 and significant growth observed in Figari, Lille and Strasbourg.
The share of international travel rose sharply in the 3rd quarter, even exceeding for the first time since the start of the crisis its 2019 level (58.7%).
With 888,858 passengers transported (72.7% of Q3 2019), Europe represents 79.5% of international trade. In the Schengen area (76.9% of Q3 2019), as an international hub Munich was the preferred destination, followed by Lisbon then Amsterdam but the most significant growth was found in Valencia, Malta and Mahon. Considering other European countries, London traffic once again dominated the game. Outside Europe (115.9% of Q3 2019), the majority of international traffic took place in North Africa (80.5% of this international traffic), up 26.1% compared to 2019. Destinations were widely acclaimed (174.3% of Q3 2019).
Freight and post traffic represented 63.8% of Q3 2019, with 9,959 tonnes occupied over the period.
