Paris: a conference canceled after two speakers were described as “transphobic”
The town hall of Paris Center has announced that it has canceled a symposium which was to be held this Sunday, November 20 within its walls, due to the supposed “transphobia” of two speakers, and this, “in agreement with the organizer of the event” .
“The town hall of Paris Center was alerted to the participation of researchers with controversial positions in an event of an association to which it lent a room […] In line with our commitments, we have decided to cancel the holding of this conference”, a press release from the town hall on its Twitter account, proved to be “committed against all discrimination and against transphobia”.
“Notoriously transphobic” speakers?
Organized this Sunday on the occasion of the International Children’s Daythis symposium was initiated by Wizo France – an association which works in particular to promote the well-being and education of expelled children – in order to inform, raise awareness and alert the general public “to the new challenges facing parents”.
In the program ? Debates around the different ways in which children are taken care of (art therapy, hypnosis, etc.), adolescence and its contemporary issues, gender dysphoria and even cyber threats.
On the bill, at least 8 speakers including doctor Caroline Eliacheff and psychoanalyst Céline Masson, graduates of “notoriously transphobic” on social networks, as revealed by Le Figaro.

If the first is none other than the daughter of Françoise Giroud, she is best known for opposing the PACS and not having her tongue in her pocket. In particular, she has been blamed several times by the order of doctors for having openly criticized some of her colleagues.
She also co-founded the Little Mermaid Observatory, for which she wrote – alongside psychoanalyst Céline Masson – an essay entitled The Factory of the Transgender Child (2022).
And this is where the problem lies, in this essay, the two women say they observe an “unprecedented demand for sex change among children” and warn of what they consider to be “the emergence of a dogmatism which claims that anatomy is only an epiphenomenon”.
“At the risk of being called transphobic, […] we make the hypothesis, corroborated by other authors, that transidentity is part of an ideological subculture contagious via social networks, approaching in many aspects of sectarian influence”, they write again.

Writings that now earn them – as they feared – to be accused of “transphobia” and to be at the origin of the cancellation of a colloquium. In a press release, Wizo France explained that the town hall of Paris Center had “received a significant number of threats and intimidation from activists and activists who oppose the participation in a round table of Caroline Eliacheff and Céline Mason”.
But not enough to make them cancel the event altogether, which will still be broadcast in video on their Youtube page. “For us, it is a question of remembering that it is essential that those who want to change gender be accompanied from a medical and psychological point of view”, thus informed Le Figaro one of the organizers of the event. , Nathalie Elmalih.
