Municipality of Naples – Municipality-Anci agreement signed for Euro-Mediterranean projects
For the Mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi“This is a memorandum of understanding with ANCI which starts from the Municipality of Naples, together with Anci Campania, with the aim of working on cultural projects, essentially looking at the Mediterranean basin. We had in Naples the meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Mediterranean which was deliberately organized by Franceschini precisely with the idea that Naples could be a point of reference for a synergistic action between all the cities bordering the shores of the Mediterranean and this is the work we will do together withANCI starting from this protocol”.
Carlo Marino – President ANCI Campania”It is important to start building policies of cohesion and internationalization of local autonomies that start to create synergy; 550 municipalities of Campania together naturally with the great Naples to build policies absolutely not only of internationalization but also of political formation of inclusion and innovation“
Giacomo Serafini – CIELM Director pointed out how “This protocol will certainly make it possible to relaunch the Euro-Mediterranean theme starting from the Municipal Councils which are the place appointed to converse with the institutions and represent a moment of innovation and transition“
Enza Amato – President of the Municipal Council he recalled that “We strongly wanted to formally establish the international conference of local authorities with the collaboration of CIELM, which has been involved in this matter for years, and this is the result of an agenda unanimously approved by the City Council last spring. A structure that is not only institutional, but also a place of dialogue with the territories including with the Municipalities of the Mediterranean“
Sergio D’Angelo representative of CIELMInternational Coordination of Mediterranean Local Authorities, underlined that “Through the collaboration with theANCI the delegation to cooperation between local authorities is enhanced, for a development agenda for southern Italy in a Euro-Mediterranean dimension centered on the guiding role of the Municipal Councils. The collaborations between Councils and Euromed Committees, developed in recent years by our Director Giacomo Serafini in synergy with the UfM Union for the Mediterranean and the Committee of the Regions, will deepen new management models of the cultural and creative industry for an innovation of the PAs that enhance the participation of citizens in the decision-making and democratic processes of our Administrations”.
