Letter to the editor – shaping the future. Now!
Why are we living in “crazy times” today? Accidentally, by God? Or is it due to economic and social developments that some may even have helped shape, others may have allowed, and others may be powerless in the face of these developments.
How should, indeed how must our future be shaped so that it remains worth living in? Never before in the last century have there been so many tasks to be solved simultaneously as there are today. And disenchantment with politics increases at the same time. An absolute paradox. no! If you look at the political developments in some neighboring countries, you can understand this disaffection. At the same time, we then leave the entire social development to autocrats or technocrats. It must not be like this! Based on Stefanie Werger’s song “We need men, real men, men with spirit. No chaotic, macho, bums,” I add: “We need men and women with a profile!” Especially women. As a very small country with tremendous economic strength, we have the opportunity to take a more aggressive stance on our international opinions and thereby help shape it.
The political work covers three areas: locally in the municipal council, nationally in the state parliament and internationally in the united bodies. Given the current challenges and urgent paperwork, one would expect the best of the best in the country to be lining up to help shape the future. This should at least be a call to do so, and if YOU, dear reader (gn), cannot do this yourself for some reason, then ask your acquaintances and friends to do so.
Find out about the active political work in the country. Local council elections are coming up; a good opportunity to gain experience. As a councillor [gn] you have many opportunities to actively participate. In the country we need people with ideas and the will to shape things, who are committed and contribute to finding solutions. There can never be enough of that.
Diversity brings better solutions. 1 + 1 + 1 = 4.7.
