GENOA – More violence on the streets of Genoa. A fight involving bottles and screwdrivers ended in the injury and arrest of a 36-year-old Nigerian man. It happened on Monday afternoon in Piazza Monteverdi, in Cornigliano. According to what was reconstructed by the police, two groups of Nigerians would have faced each other with bottles and screwdrivers. When the police arrived they found no one but saw the fragments of bottles and bloodstains on the ground.
Looking around, the police noticed a man who had several bloodstains on his hand and a screwdriver on him, a box cutter and a wrench. In the meantime, a report arrived that another 29-year-old Nigerian had been found injured and was being taken to hospital. The man told medics that he had been attacked by two people who had wounded him on the head and chest.
Cross-referencing the data revealed that the man stopped not far from Piazza Monteverdi he was one of the attackers and was thus arrested.
