Tham & Videgård celebrates two decades in practice with an exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden
The Swedish Architects’ Office Tham & Videgård showcases a wide selection of projects celebrating over twenty years in practice at ArkDes—Center for Architecture and Design in Stockholm, Sweden. For the first time, the studio’s work is presented in its entirety, showing in detail acclaimed buildings such as the winning proposal Denfert Art Center in Paris and the 150 meter high +One Tower for the Swedish Exhibition in Gothenburg. From November 2022 to 27 August 2023, In: Architecture offers visitors a full-scale spatial experience involving models, new photography and films – all set in a glass-floored exhibition space.
On: Architecture is evident from Tham and Videgård’s desire for a space to spark a conversation about aspects of architecture that are hidden to them. The exhibition builds into an architecture debate that often avoids core issues and highlights aspects of Tham & Videgård’s work in order to highlight other fundamental aspects of architecture.
The installation comprises 432 square meters of glass surface, which invites the visitor to experience the stand simulating a town square for reflection and discussion as well as activities related to architecture and its role in society. The space brings the visitor into contact with a full-scale architectural experience.
