Klarna adds new tool in UK, Sweden, Denmark
Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) provider Klarna has expanded the availability of the search and comparison tool in its app to the UK, Sweden and Denmark, following the launch of the tool in the US in October.
The new feature, which helps consumers find best offers for any product, builds on Klarna’s acquisition of the comparison service PriceRunner, which was completed in April. It gives consumers another option Google and Amazon when they shop online, Klarna said Monday (14 Nov) in a press release.
“For Klarna, today’s launch is an important milestone in our evolution from a payment network to a single shopping destination that covers everything from inspiring product discovery to delivery tracking, digital receipts and seamless returns,” Klarna’s founder and CEO. Sebastian Siemiatkowski said in the release.
With the new intelligent search and comparison tool, shoppers can filter search results by color, size, features, customer ratings, store availability, shipping options and other characteristics, according to the release.
Search results are listed in order of price, so consumers can quickly see the best deal. If the price of an item has fluctuated, the price range is displayed so consumers can determine if they might be able to get a better deal later, the release said.
At checkout, the tool searches for and applies all available coupons available for the products the consumer has selected, according to the release.
“Klarna’s new search and comparison tool does the hard work for consumers, comparing thousands of websites in real-time to ensure they have all the information they need to make informed and confident purchasing decisions,” Siemiatkowski said in the release.
As PYMNTS reported on October 19, this tool was one of five new ones shopping functions Klarna started adding their app and website at that time.
Other new offerings include purchasable video content, a donation feature, a CO2 equivalent (CO2e) tracker, and a platform that connects creators and retailers.

How consumers pay online with stored credentials
Convenience prompts some consumers to store their payment details with merchants, while security concerns put other customers off. For “How We Pay Digitally: Stored Credentials Edition,” a collaboration with Amazon Web Services, PYMNTS surveyed 2,102 U.S. consumers to analyze the consumer dilemma and reveal how merchants can win over holdings.
