GERB, DPS, BSP, “Vazrazhdane” and Stefan Yanev
Remember when the last parliamentary elections were? Don’t worry, I already forgot too. More than a month has passed, and President Rumen Radev has not yet given the first mandate to form the cabinet – to GERB and Boyko Borisov.
It is already absurd to predict how long Radev will push for something and how much more he will help Borissov and the DPS (for example, with the paper ballot, where if he does not impose a veto upon acceptance, it will be another clear signal). But the war to go back in time to before the protests of 2020 is going on in full force.
I pay attention to the iconic words of Yordan Tsonev: “All other considerations – you are corrupt, you are this, you are that – are nonsense”. He said them while explaining that the most important condition for forming the government is “Euro-Atlanticism”. Why – because only “Euro-Atlanticism” has the tools to deal with the security crisis stemming from the war in Ukraine and the economic crisis that is also largely due to the war in Ukraine.
These very words are indicative of how hidden our reality is. Euro-Atlanticism actually rests on the rule of law. In other words – let there be no lawlessness! Everyone should be equal before the law and when there is evidence that it has been violated, they should be investigated, charged and tried. We know very well how it is in Bulgaria – “ours” are untouchable. There are only slight changes that are exactly “ours” – it depends on who is in power. Or to put it the way you understand it, Tsonev – when corrupt people rule the state with impunity at all levels, then there is no Euro-Atlanticism, there is feudalism and Putinism.
Apparently, the Bulgarians don’t have enough. The tiredness of the elections is clear, but something else is also clear – at no time since the squares in 2020 were filled with people because of Boyko Borisov and Ivan Geshev, in no election was there a turnout like that in Western Europe. I’m talking about 60, 70 even 80% (in the best years in France). Again, the majority of Bulgarians did NOT vote.
That is why we deserve the following – the government of GERB, BSP, DPS and “Vazrazhdane”, with the premiere of the “national agreement” Stefan Yanev. This will be the crown of Bulgarian democracy. If, after such a government, we really do not realize that the problem is not a misunderstanding of Bulgarian Euro-Atlanticism, that there cannot be a state without justice, then it can finally be closed. I am personally optimistic that then many people will start marrying – if only there will be such a government. But for its removal as nothing, many people will begin to understand what Maidana was.
