découvrez les nouvelles consignes de tri pour votre poubelle propre sur la métropole
If you live in the Bordeaux metropolis, don’t be surprised if in the next few days you will discover a new yellow sticker on your clean trash can. Bordeaux Metropolis,
in cooperation with the company specializing in the recycling of household packaging and graphic paper Citeo,
will pose from this Wednesday nearly 250,000 stickers on them to inform you of the new sorting instructions which will come into force from January 1, 2023. The agglomeration has indeed invested more than 35 million euros to expand and above all, modernize its sorting center in Bègles. An expansion of 9,000m² which will enable up to 65,000 tonnes of waste to be recycled per year (instead of 50,000 tonnes today).
The objective of these new instructions is to simplify the gesture of three for the inhabitants. Today, all our paper and cardboard ends up in the clean bin, but for the other packaging, we had to do a little sorting. From January 1, no need! All plastic and metal packaging will also be in this bin. For example, we can put the trays, pots or plastic films. Pom’potes, yoghurts, tube of toothpaste, tablet of medicine, capsule of beer or coffee… All of this will now also go directly into the clean bin.
The aim of this new sorting is to recover three kilos more of waste per inhabitant and per year. In total, 2,700 tonnes of waste in the metropolis will come out of the black bin to be recycled from now on with this long-term objective: to reduce household waste by 15% per year and per inhabitant by 2030 compared to 2010. Finally, in the coming months, your green bin lids will also be replaced by lids yellow by Bordeaux Métropole to comply with the color code adopted at European level.
