The Italian Jannik Sinner, 12th in the world, who led the season in particular with his promising Grand Slam duels against Carlos Alcaraz, lost Monday in the first round of the Masters 1000 in Paris against the Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler (61st) 6-2, 6-3.
At 21, Sinner reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and the US Open this year: on the London lawn he had dismissed Alcaraz in the round of 16, who had taken his revenge on the tough New Yorker in the quarter-finals before get his first Major.
The Italian was participating for the second time in the Parisian Masters 1000: last year, he lost in the second round.
For his part, Huesler is playing the tournament indoors in Paris for the first time. Passed through the two qualifying rounds, he will face Tuesday evening at the end of the program the Russian Karen Khachanov (19th), titled at Bercy in 2018.
