Toulouse: they are all passionate about bricks at Brick Live
Until October 30, the Pierre Baudis Congress Center is hosting BrickLive, with more than 2 million game bricks over more than 2,500 m2 of exhibition space.
A fan of game bricks, Joël certainly is. This 71-year-old man came specially from Agen, with Nathalie and her twins, to take part in the Brick Live event which takes place at the Pierre Baudis Congress Center in Toulouse until October 30. This morning, Joël is busy making the wings of a Star Wars plane. He has fun like a child in this vast playground, proof that the event is aimed at young and old alike!
This is the second year that Toulouse has hosted the Brick Live event. “The first time was in 2019, then there was the covid and here we are again. We have exclusivity in France for this exhibition”, specifies Olivier Cahuzac, director of the Salons – Toulouse Evénements.
Designed in two parts, Brick Live includes a stroll among savannah animals, reproduced life-size in game bricks. We come across warthogs, zebras, an elephant, a lion… Each time, the result is stunning. For each, it is specified the number of bricks used, the weight and the time of realization. Vincent and his two boys, from Roquette, remain admiring.
After a labyrinthine course, we arrive in a huge room where everyone tries their hand at their little construction according to a chosen theme (Stars Wars, Ninjago, Friends, etc.).
In these twelve workshops spread over two levels, on the cross Adèle and her two children Rubin and Basile. The latter is “a Lego enthusiast. He just finished a temple,” says his mom, who is from Brax. While Annie and her grandson Adrien are busy in front of a box of bricks. “We don’t know yet what we’re going to do, but Adrien has a lot of imagination,” slips the grandmother. Further on, with her feet in a brick pool, Maxine, 3, has just finished “a princess castle”. In the evening, the most beautiful pieces are exhibited. Some are even rewarded. Notice to amateurs!
