son ex-husband Ernst August of Hanover on the brink of bankruptcy?
After losing a lawsuit against his son, Ernst August of Hanover could soon experience ruin. And for good reason, the company that the ex-husband of Caroline of Monaco had founded to settle this dispute is threatened with bankruptcy.
Decidedly, nothing goes for Ernst-August, Prince of Hanover. Known to have married Carolina of Monaco in January 1999, and with whom he had a daughter, Alexandra, Ernst-August has, since their separation in 2009, caused a lot of ink to flow. And this, above all for the wrong reasons: assault on a police officer, which earned him a ten month sentence suspended prison sentence, debts wiped out by his ex-girlfriend Chantal Hochuli, but also legal war against his eldest son, Ernst-Auguste Jr, whom he blamed for the interference of the castle of Marienbourg. But now the German media Bunte reports another problem, which could cause a lot of hassle for the ex-companion of Caroline of Monaco: company’s bankruptcy filing EAH BetreibungsgmbH, of which it shares ownership with Austrian shareholders.
It was during the summer of 2022 that the company became known to the general public, since it had brought a civil action in the dispute which opposed the heir to the throne of Hanover to his eldest son. She had thus financed the legal action, which turned out to be revealed to the patriarch, the latter then claiming the reimbursement of several donations made to his son for “interference” and “grave of ingratitude”. Property such as the Château de Marienbourg, precious artistic treasures, but also antiquities and land were then concerned. However, this failure was “inevitable”, according to Patrick Thun-Hohenstein, director of the company, who reveals that when he sold him his shares in the company, Prince Ernest of Hanover also dangled him “objects of art which had not been in his possession for a long time”.

Ernst of Hanover threatened by ruin
But, in addition to the bankruptcy of his company, it is also ruin that threatens the father of Princess Alexandra, who must, according to Buntenot less than 74,000 euros of unpaid fees to his Salzburg lawyer. The disputed value having been estimated by the court at 30 million euros, high fees are also due, and occur at almost 1 million euros. Ernst-Auguste de Hanover should either bear 21% personally, or pay the sum of around 210,000 euros. His company, EAH GmbH, would have had to pay the rest had it not filed for bankruptcy with an estimated debt of half a million euros, according to the German media. It remains to be seen how the prince intends to settle this fabulous bill, he who, until then, has not hesitated to ask his former companies to lend him money. Will Princess Caroline of Monaco also help her out?
