two deaths and 1,229 new cases • Nine from Florence
There are 1,229 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the last twenty-four hours in Tuscany: 241 were confirmed with molecular swab and the other 988 with rapid test.
The number of infected people detected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic therefore rises to 1,469,263. New cases are 0.1% more than the previous day’s total. The healed increased by 0.1% (1,471 people) and the quota 1,408,597 (5.9% of total cases). datarelative to the trend of the pandemic, are those ascertained today on the basis of the requests of the National Civil Protection. At the moment in Tuscany there are therefore 49,683 positive, -0.5% compared to yesterday.
Of these 459 (13 fewer than yesterday) are hospitalized: 13 (4 fewer) are in intensive care. The list of deaths is updated with 2 new deaths: 2 women, with an average age of 93 years Since the last daily bulletin, 1,047 molecular swabs and 7,330 rapid antigenic swabs have been performed: of these 14.7% tested positive. On the other hand, 1,478 subjects were tested, excluding the control swabs: 83.2% of these tested positive. The average age of 1,229 new positives is approximately 56 years (7% are under 20, 15% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 33% between 60 and 79, 14% are 80 years or more).The trend by provinceWith the latest cases, the positives rise to 397,593 since the beginning of the emergency in the municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Florence (265 more than yesterday), 97,419 in the province of Prato (63 more), 115,453 in Pistoia (99 more) , 74,578 in Massa Carrara (70 more), 158,020 in Lucca (159 more), 171,010 in Pisa (148 more), 133,223 in Livorno (125 more), 133,644 in Arezzo (107 more), 105,911 in Siena (80 more) and 81,708 in Grosseto (75 more).
To these must be added 555 positive cases reported in Tuscany but found positive in other regions. There are 440 new reports in the Central Local Health Authority, 489 in the North West, 262 South East. Tuscany is in 11th place in Italy in terms of number. of total cases since the beginning of the pandemic (between residents and non-residents), with approximately 39,787 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 39,724 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). At the moment, the province of notification with the highest rate is Lucca (with 41,156 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), followed by Pisa (40,913) and Livorno (40,494).
The lowest concentration is found in Prato (with a rate of 3,725). 49,224 are in isolation at home, because they have mild symptoms that do not need hospital treatment or are symptom-free (231 less than yesterday, minus 0.5 %). 157 people who died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region must be added COVID-19 (number of deceased / resident population) is currently 297.4 per 100,000 residents, against 302.4 x100,000 for the Italian average. Tuscany is 9th among the regions. Vaccination obligation for health professionals
After the appeal of theOrder of Interprovincial Nursing Professions Florence – Pistoia comes the measure of the neo Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci which provides for the reintegration into the service of health personnelsuspended for non-compliance with the vaccination obligation, before the expiry date of the suspension set at 31 December. A decision taken also because of “the necessary concern of medical and health personnel reported by the heads of the health and local structures”.
The announcement comes a short distance from the letter sent byOrder of Interprovincial Nursing Professions Florence Pistoia, chaired by David Nuccito the new Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, to the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci and to the president of Fnopi Barbara Mangavalli with the aim of submitting to them the problems relating to the application of the legislation on vaccination obligation and in light of the end of the pandemic emergency, a series of requests, including the possibility of reintroducing unvaccinated healthcare professionals into the contests.
“We are grateful for this provision that marries the appeal made by our Order two days ago to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health and the Fnopi – comments the president of Opi Firenze – Pistoia David Nucci -. We are happy that our request to review the legislation on the vaccination obligation of staff has been accepted, adapting it to the current health situation. We had in fact proposed to evaluate in the countries the possibility, given the lack of nurses in our country, of reintroducing job competitions for unvaccinated people, where their work activity is assessed as having low or no risk towards the patients ”.
