For the day, 998 antigen tests were performed, of which 112 were positive, i.e. 11.22% positive samples. In comparison, in the previous report there were 1063 antigen tests, of which 164 were positive, i.e. 15.42%. There were 203 PCR tests, of which 9 were positive, i.e. 4.43%. In the previous report, there were 221 tests of this type, of which 16 were positive, i.e. 7.23 per cent.
Total confirmed cases are 1,278,236. 3,756,938 PCR and 6,943,543 antigen tests were performed (total 10,700,481)with the average percentage of positive samples since the beginning of the pandemic being 11.94 percent – no change in the daily basis.
Active cases are increasing and there are already 10,155, which is 98 more than the previous report. According to an expert, the huge drop in early July, when active infections fell by about 90,000 in two weeks, is explained by the fact that there have been many unreported recoveries in the past two years and especially during the peaks of the previous waves, when the regional RHIs were extremely busy, due to which the real numbers are not taken into account, and now this indicator is being corrected.
The number of hospitalized persons increased slightly, and they are 734 – by 1 more (9 were admitted to hospital, 8 were discharged). For comparison, during the worst days of the pandemic in October last year, more than 7,200 patients were treated in hospitals. Patients admitted to intensive care units are 59 – with 1 more on a daily basis. Exactly occupancy of intensive care beds is one of the main criteria for tightening the measures in our country, and not, as before, the number of infected persons or active cases.

In this regard, the Unified Information Portal presents data on the occupancy of intensive care beds in the five clusters. After about two months in the green zone, the whole of Bulgaria went for about two weeks to Stage 0. Again there is another change in the map, once you are already around Sofia – Region 1 remains in the green zone. The rest of the country is at Stage 0 as Region 5 returns to its lowest level. Due to the reduction of workload in intensive sectors, from March 21 the green certificate has dropped completely. And with the arrival of the fifth official cabinet, appointed by Rumen Radev, it became clearthat every week an expert council will report the most important data and decide if and what measures will be taken.
23 people have settled at last count and their total number it is already 1,230,221. For the second day in a row, no deaths were reported. Thus, the number of those who lost the battle with the virus in Bulgaria remains 37,860.
A total of 26,109 medical personnel are among the official cases of coronavirus, which means that there are no new ones for 24 hours. 3,060 people are under quarantine, noting that they are 7,095 less than the currently active cases. Information on the number of people quarantined due to COVID-19 is available herealthough according to the Ministry of Health, it is not public. It is the number of quarantined persons that should be taken as a guide regarding the real number of active cases in the country at the moment.
The Ministry of Health also presents data on what proportion of the infected, those admitted to hospital and those who started were not fully vaccinated. In the last 24 hours, 66.94% of the given positive samples were not immunized. 66.67 percent of those admitted to hospital for treatment are also unvaccinated.
The single information portal provides data and the set doses of vaccines. They are currently 4,578,405 in total, with only 7 vaccines added overnight.
According to the latest report, 2,073,215 people or 31.89 percent have completed the immunization cycle – added two mRNA doses or one of the “Jansen” company. This figure contains several drastic jumps and drops in recent months for which there was no official explanation. As of July 13, fully immunized people have 13,364 targeted prior reports. Sales figures also fell between March 20 and 21 by about 9,000 people, and on July 4 they inexplicably rose by 13,385.
916,681 people or 14.1 percent also received a booster dose, most of them in the capital. A total of 44,112 people have received the adapted version of the Omicron vaccine.
From June 27, anyone who wishes can take a second booster dose. It should be done at least 4 months after the first booster for a person whose completed vaccination course is a two-dose vaccine. All persons aged 18 and over who wish to receive a therapeutic booster vaccine against COVID-19 can be included in the vaccination points of the RZI, the offices of general practitioners, as well as in auxiliary facilities for inpatient and outpatient medical care.
Since the beginning of the introduction of covid vaccines in 2021, 91.35 percent of hospital admissions are unvaccinated. As for those in need of intensive treatment, the percentage is even higher – 96.94%, according to the data on the plusmen.bg portal.
