274 medicines officially unavailable in Belgium
For several weeks, many drugs have been missing from our pharmacies. currently, 274 medicines are declared unavailable by the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) and the list is growing as the FAMHP lists on its dedicated Pharmastatut site.
According to the agency, tensions currently exist over the supply of certain treatments for type 2 diabetes. This is particularly the case for Ozempic (semaglutide) which is suffering from critical unavailability, a situation which should not elsewhere not improve before January 6, 2023. In question, the strong supply tensions on the class of GLP-1 analogues (new drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, administered by subcutaneous injection, Ed. ), due to an increase in global demand.
There are also several painkillers and generic drugs put under tension, including Perdolan Compositum 400 mg unavailable until November 19. Currently, 274 drugs are declared unavailable by the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP).
