Market, carnival… A historic fair will bring this emblematic district in the center of Toulouse to life

Launched after the end of the Second World War, the Foire de la Colombette is an institution and a historic festival in Toulouse. An event rooted in the Saint-Aubin district and the Free Commune of La Colombettethe other distinction of this artery, like the Free Commune of Montmartre and other cases in France.
It’s the 78e edition of the fair
From Saturday 29 October to Tuesday 1uh November 2022, the Fair celebrates its 78e editing. “It will be on the theme of jazz”, announces Charles-Henri Cazac, the brand new president of the Amicale de la Colombette.
Jazz, make-up, marching band…
As tradition dictates, the inauguration of the fair will be given by Jean-Luc Moudenc, the mayor of Toulouse, on Saturday October 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. Each day will be marked by a key event: on Saturday, the Sardinhas de Mata brass band, a group of Brazilian singers. On Sunday, “The mystery of the elephants” will hover over La Colombette with three shows scheduled at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
Monday and Tuesday (for the public holiday), make way for the Fanflures Brass Band, a brassy Toulouse formation with a very New Orleans jazz funk. Many make-up animations will be presented during the fair.
Digging Halloween theme in 2023
Charles-Henri Cazac is already working on the 2023 edition, which will give pride of place to the Halloween theme. La Colombette is looking to the future but the 2022 edition will be marked by a major absentee: son mayor. Like any Free Commune, La Colombette has its mayor, but the position has been vacant since the death in 2019 of Serge Terrazzoni. “A project is being developed to continue the tradition,” concluded the organization of the fair.
