Taxis et VTC français reach an agreement with Monaco and end an economic war
For months, the situation between French taxis and VTCs and Monegasque taxis and VTCs had been tense. A tension that had even led to several actions and demonstrations. Example of reproaches: tricolor taxis could not pick up a customer in Monaco without a special vignette; costing for 6 months 750 euros. In addition, they accused the Monegasque VTCs, in particular, of taking charge of travelers at Nice airport without paying anything in return. The situation has even risen to the highest peaks of the states with the intervention of the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes on one side and the minister of state of the principality on the other. The meeting that has just taken place has therefore put things right and is gradually reaching a consensus. From now on, from January 1, 2023, everyone will be at home. The French (taxis and VTC) could take customers on the national territory and take them to the principality without financial counterpart and leaving empty. In the other direction, only Monegasque taxis and VTCs could take customers on the rock for carriers to a place in France. They too will leave empty for their departure base. At the exit, the representative of Nice taxis said he was satisfied and also appreciated that these measures would only be put in place in 2 months in order to give everyone time to organize themselves.
