On the eve of the opening, scheduled for October 29, 11,500 visitors are already ready to cross the entrance of Palazzo Zaguri, in the Campo San Maurizio area, in Venice, for the exhibition “Tutankhamon. 100 years of mysteries “. The exhibition, set up by Venice Exhibition, pays such a young homage to the pharaoh, 100 years after the discovery of his tomb in 1922.
Egypt Exhibition Venice: a tribute to Tutankhamun 100 years after the discovery of his tomb
Immerse yourself in the reconstruction of Tutankhamun’s tomb and discover the history and mysteries of Ancient Egypt. All this will be possible in an exhibition-event dedicated to the greatest of the Egyptian pharaohs, Tutankhamun, 100 years after the discovery of his tomb in the Valley of the Kings by the team of London-based Egyptologist Howard Carter. It was November 1922 when the archaeologist and his team discovered the access steps of the tomb and, following them, one finds the tomb in front of an incredible spectacle: over 5 thousand precious objects of different types that arouse objects of interest, on the part of the public, for the ancient Egyptians. Now, to pay homage to the discovery, an unpublished exhibition arrives.
It is called “Tutankhamun. 100 years of mysteries ”and will be hosted, from 29 October 2022, at Palazzo Zaguri, in Venice: over 3 thousand square meters divided into 36 rooms on 5 floors entirely dedicated to the pharaoh, with more than a thousand archaeological and suggestive finds scenes recreated ad hoc in 3D through 50 immersive virtual reality stations of the latest generation. The goal is to contextualize the figure of Tutankhamun, who died in 1323 BC, recomposing, through documents and sources of different nature, a real identikit of the pharaoh. The exhibition, set up by Venice Exhibition, is the largest ever held in Europe on the same theme, “a pharaonic cultural event”, as the organizers defined it, during which “it will seem to look the young pharaoh in the eye”.
