Letter to the Editor – From Corona and omnivores
Answer to the letter to the editor “Yes, the dear brain!” by Mathilde Dirven, published on October 24th:
Dear Ms. Driven, I just can’t figure out what global warming and meat consumption are supposed to have to do with my lines, which referred to Urs Kindle’s letter to the editor. I had myself vaccinated against Corona and, you will be amazed, I take the unnaturally rapid climate change very seriously. There are many other things that also worry me and that I take seriously. One does not exclude the other. When it comes to eating meat, I see it a little differently than you do. Man is an omnivore or in plain English, it sounds less noble, an “omnivore”. But that doesn’t mean that I want my meat on the table every day. Less is often more and that’s why, when I eat meat, I try to get it from animals that are kept in a species-appropriate manner. That may well be the case, after all, the producing farmer also has a greater effort. Basically, I trust the experts and when they don’t agree, the majority of experts. Of course, I don’t trust them blindly and I want to get an explanation for their opinion that I think is conclusive. Why shouldn’t I trust the experts and specialists? Thanks to the pharmaceutical industry, my doctor and the hospital saved my life when I had a brain hemorrhage. And that proves, by the way, that I have a brain. If there hadn’t been anything, it couldn’t have bled. But now back to the origin of these lines, to the fourth vaccination with the aim of preventing a corona infection or at least ensuring a most likely mild course. Here’s an example: If my car garage recommends that I check the antifreeze in the radiator water before winter and top up if necessary, which he does every year, by the way, then I trust him and he trusts the manufacturer of the antifreeze. Of course, I can also hope that it won’t get cold, especially when I assume that Bill Gates secretly put a tracking device in the antifreeze so that he always knows where Matuwirt’s car is. Namely, the antifreeze makers could all be owned by Mr. Gates. The more I think about it, the more likely it seems. Or maybe my brain was damaged by the bleeding? My doctor says no. I wish you a good time and stay healthy.
