Cycling: Cécile Caillot closes the season with a victory
Cécile Caillot met a nice end to the road season by signing a victory in Gentleman (duet) and Antoine Bonnaud won his first cyclo-cross trophy in his new category.

In Benjamins, Lysandre Schatz and Elio Arnaud produced two fine performances in line with their last competition at Saint Rambert d’Albon the previous Saturday. Elio, from the starter, will lead the 23 competitors and complete a first lap at the controls. Lysandre far on the grid, will come back according to the loops and impose his train on a lot of competitors. We find him in sixth position on the penultimate lap, tidy that he will keep until the finish, ahead of his comrade Elio, who with his first-year legs in the category is performing a good exercise.
In the Minimes category, Antoine Bonnaud, happier this time at the start than last week, will be at the forefront from the first laps. Taking advantage of the fall of the leading man, he quickly took control of the peloton and fought a fine duel with Paulin Bayard of the XC 63. The breathless crossover between the two competitors lasted until the eighth loop. During an obstacle jump rather badly negotiated by his rival, Antoine removes a tooth, takes a few lengths, then finally lets go of his brave opponent. Finally, at the end of the 22-minute race, the member of the Vélo Club du Velay wins on a fairly rolling circuit but embellished with an impressive double trunk crossing.

Accompanied by Émilie Dupré from AC Cusset, Cécile Caillot took the first female place on a 13.6 km circuit laid out by the Dynamic Vélo Riorgeois. Cécile ends her season on the best of notes, adding a new victory to an already very extensive 2021-2022 list.
