Blanqué and Leygue crowned French champions of Padel
Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue, two players from the Stade Toulousain Tennis Club ProTeam Padel, won the French Padel Championship in Toulouse, in the final against defending champions Johan Bergeron and Benjamin Tison.
A hell of a home. The two members of the ProTeam Padel from Stade Toulousain Tennis Club Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue have won their first French champions medal together this Sunday, October 23, after a great final contested in Toulouse against defending champions Johan Bergeron and Benjamin Tison. Revenge for the Toulouse pair since they lost last year against the same two players in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 7-5).
But this year, it is indeed Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue who managed to take over in just two sets. Final score: 6-4, 7-6.

4th title of French champion for Bastien Blanqué, 1st for Thomas Leygue
Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue directly put pressure on their opponents from the start of the final. This strategy allowed them to lead throughout the first set, which they naturally succeeded. During the second, the two Stade Toulousain players opted for the same method, awakening the aggressiveness of the champions of France in title Johan Bergeron and Benjamin Tison and devastated by beautiful exchanges, until the tie-break, won by the Toulouse players.
This title of champion of France is the fourth for Bastien Blanqué (2017, 2018, 2019, and now, 2022), 27-year-old player who entered the professional circuit only five years ago. As for Thomas Leygue, aged 20, he climbs for the first time on the top step of the podium, considered to presage a good career.
