Tours sink into crisis, Rouen and Andrézieux put pressure on Mulhouse
The 6th day of National 1 started on Friday. Discover here all the lessons of the evening.
Group A
Big favorite in the Championship before the start of the season, with a five-star squad on paper until the presence of a EuroBasket semi-finalist, Tours is sinking into crisis. Thomas Drouot’s team, which is starting to be on an ejection seat, fell for the fifth time (in six days) and retains the dunce cap of Pool A, shared with Berck and Pôle France. This time, the TMB was no match against Chartres (89-81). The teammates of Marc-Antoine Pellin (17 points and 3 assists) remain, on the other hand, at the top of the classification (5-1), tied with Rennes, very easy winner of INSEP (100-61) with in particular the one of the best pro outings of Guillaume Eyango (20 rating), one of the vice-world junior champions in 2021.
Behind, three outsiders keep an interesting rhythm: Toulouse, Vitré and Challans, all at 4-2. We note in particular the career record of Maxence Dadiet, author of 31 points at 12/20 (including 5/6 at three points) against Rueil. The Toulouse back is definitely signing a particularly interesting start to the season since his old reference outing dated from… September 30, 2022, with 25 units against Berck.

Group B
In danger this Saturday in Orchies with a perilous trip to the lair of the Monster Joe Burton, the undefeated leader from Mulhouse watched all his competitors win on Friday. Rouen strolled to Pierre-Bénite against LyonSO (84-62), while Andrézieux-Bouthéon signed a nice shot at Boulogne-sur-Mer (76-69), boosted by the 18 points of a former from SOMB, Hugo Dumortier.
On the other floors, Besançon dominated Kaysersberg (92-76), with an awkward Mykal Riley (9 points at 2/9) but not so far from the triple-double (7 rebounds and 8 assists), while Hyères-Toulon has still not managed to open its counter. Almost two months later his signaturethe American reinforcement Ashford Golden was finally qualified (7 points at 2/7) but that did not change much for the HTV, largely defeated in Caen (78-92).
