Salzburg opponents Chelsea drew against Manchester United
Liverpool is still not going. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat at newly promoted Nottingham Forest six days after beating champions Manchester City 1-0 in the top game. Ex-Liverpooler Taiwo Awoniyi (55th) shot the bottom of the table to three points and the first second win of the season. Manchester City beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland.
In Nottingham, Virgil van Dijk missed the huge opportunity to equalize shortly before the end. Liverpool, who are yet to win away in the league this season, have picked up just 16 points in 11 league games.
Defending champions City took the lead with a brace from striker Haaland (22nd, 43rd with a penalty). The Norwegian has already scored 17 goals in 11 Premier League games. After Leandro Trossard’s goal for the guests (53′), Kevin De Bruyne (75′) made everything clear for Pep Guardiola’s team, who remain in second place in the table.
