Grégoire, AS Monaco supporter: “The match against LOSC will be very lively”
This Sunday, the Mastiffs received a new team from the top of the table, namely AS Monaco. The Monegasques want to return to winning ways after two disappointing last games. Little Lille went to meet Grégoire, supporter of the reds and whites, to discuss this match.
What is the state of your team’s form before facing LOSC?
The defeat against Trabzonspor hurts our morale. We were on a series of 3 games won. The point we take against Clermont is a good point because of being at 10 at the start of the match. Other than that, we are having a good start to the season. Lots of wins, especially away from home. We are currently 6th, it’s a ranking that satisfies me for a 12th day.
What are AS Monaco’s strengths and weaknesses?
Our dominance on the outside is very interesting. If I’m not talking nonsense, we have never been trailed outside the season. We are still undefeated there. This of course affects the ranking since playing outside is always more difficult. To talk more about the match, one of our strengths is the midfield in my opinion. Fofana is one of our key players. It is the real metronome of this team.
For the upcoming match, we will have to play without Camara. He was logically excluded against Clermont. We’re going to need a big Badiashile lacking in rhythm. We still don’t have the certainty of seeing him play against Lille. It is very important at the start of the season. To see if he can come back in power during the meeting.
“Fofana is the metronome of this team”
How do you approach LOSC and the game?
I am very confident for the meeting. We are very good away from home, the second team in Ligue 1 I believe. The sequence of matches can harm us. The Lille game is quite pleasant to watch. The meeting is likely to be very animated with many but I think.
Who will be the player to follow on your side?
It is without the slightest doubt that I quote Embolo. He is very successful at the start of the season. He combines very well with Ben Yedder. He is currently the author of 5 goals in 11 games played. He is especially present on a third of our goals. He is almost essential in Monaco to have a successful game.
A prediction for this match?
I imagine a lot of goals in the game. Both teams want to go forward. The battle in midfield is going to be crucial. LOSC is a team that always does well for us. 6 victories in the last 10 confrontations and only one defeat. I tend to imagine a score like 1-3 or 2-3.
