Brahim Diaz and AC Milan roll out against Monza
Here is a poster with a particular flavor: for the first time in the history of the championship, the duo Silvio Berlusconi-Adriano Galliani sat in the bays of the San Siro stadium as opponents of AC Milan. Indeed, the Milanese Diavolo welcomed this Saturday the promoted from AC Monza, as part of the 11th day for a meeting that smelled of Lombard powder. In the first half, the Rossoneri were quick to take the lead thanks to a fine achievement by Brahim Diaz as a soloist, who pierced the defensive curtain of Monza (16th). And while Raffaele Palladino’s players tried to respond, like a long shot from Stefano Sensi (24th) and a diving header inspired by Carlos Augusto (28th), the Spanish international, on loan from Real Madrid, went from his double with a nice oriented control before landing his shot with the right foot (41st). On the hour mark, Divock Origi rolled up a magnificent shot which cleared the skylight of Michele Di Gregorio (65th). The young Filippo Ranocchia reduced the score with a nice free kick (70th), celebrating his first goal in his professional career in Serie A. As the final whistle approached, Rafael Leão wanted to join the party with a goal registered on an opening of Théo Hernandez (84th). Enough to permanently shelter the Rossoneri.
In the standings, the Milanese settle in 2nd position with the same number of points as Napoli, who face AS Roma on Sunday. Monza remain 14th more than five units from the red zone. Next weekend, Stefano Pioli’s players will travel to the Stadio Olimpico – Grande Torino to face Torino, while the Brianzoli will host Bologna at home for the 12th day of Serie A.
