Albi. Raising awareness of ecological issues for Toulouse-Lautrec students
On Tuesday, October 11, the class of 3rd Prépa Métiers from the Toulouse Lautrec high school met Léa Grzych, leader of the League for the Protection of Birds. She introduced them to the birds of our gardens in order to make them aware of ecological issues and the protection of bio-diversity. They were then able to assemble nesting boxes which will be installed at various locations in the establishment: 4 birdhouses and a bat nesting box.
Attentive and involved, the 25 students, along with their teacher Pauline Berthier who is also the establishment’s Sustainable Development referent, chose the ideal locations based on the facilitator’s recommendations.
This activity marks the start of the Occit’Avenir project “Dance your Street, Live your City in green/s” which will mark out the school year with various activities combining sustainable development, urban planning and urban cultures. They will learn about Hip-Hop culture, which is increasingly inspired by environmental issues.
The adventure continued on Thursday, October 13 on the Pratgraussals site with a reading of the landscape: observation, location scouting and photos open to the production of sketches. This outing was made with the 3rd PM class from Rascol high school.
Yesterday, it is the Marranel district which is an observation field service for the 2 classes accompanied by their History and Geography teachers, Sylvie Farenc and Marie José Woock-Pinter.
The continuation of the project will be part of a civic, sporting and cultural dimension with meetings of local actors and activities around the whole of the teaching team of the class unites with great enthusiasm.
