Defense requests individual forfeitures on Peterbos trial | Brussels

On November 26 and December 14, 2021, two waves of house searches in the neighbourhood, Elsewhere in Brussels and also in the Flemish municipalities of Asse and Puurs to indict 31 suspects – Belgians and French – for narcotics between 2021 and 2022. Two lawyers , who 20-year-old suspects represented, pleaded in court on Thursday afternoon for community service.
The lawyers did not question involved in the sale of drugs, but disputed the duration of the sale. They also urged the court that the amount of the forfeitures be individualized and not imposed “in solidum” on the defendants. In addition, the forfeitures could not be applied to those allegedly not involved in the sale of drugs in the Peterbos area. “My client was only involved in the sale of cannabis, and only near Saint Guido, not in Peterbos,” pleaded one of the lawyers. “He’s a real salesman, he wasn’t part of any association.”
