Toulouse City Hall wants Mix’Art Myrys to free up its premises
The Town Hall of Toulouse wishes to build a school where the premises still occupied by the collective of artists Mix’Art Myrys are located. The municipality would therefore have asked the justice that the place be released.
The dispute between Mix’Art Myrys and the Town Hall of Toulouse is still in place. The municipality has asked for the justice to record the expulsion of the artistic collectiveaccording news.fr.
The association contests the administrative closure of its premises in the Minimes district of Toulouse. It has been pronounced since January 2021. Mix’Art Myrys therefore sued Toulouse Métropole, the former owner of the premises, in court.
The collective has given notice to the community to carry out work to bring the site into compliance as a source of tension. The two parties disagreed on the amount of work to be done.
Mix’Art Myrys in conflict with the Metropolis, then the Town Hall of Toulouse
Since, the Métropole ceded the place to the City of Toulouse. The latter plans to build a school there. And it is within the framework of the legal action carried out by Mix’Art Myrys that the municipality decided to counter-attack, by asking for the “counterclaim of the procedure”, according to actu.fr.
“No one can be against building a school,” sighed Herveline Guervilly, project manager for the artistic collective Mix’Art Myrys, in the columns of the Toulouse newspaper last March, when the Town Hall project was revealed. This last regret that Toulouse metropolis invokes the general interest to try to deliver a coup de grace to the collective.
