Five men arrested in Toulouse in full siphoning of the tank of a heavy truck
It is perhaps one of consequences of the fuel shortage and the soaring prices that go with it: five men, from Eastern European countries, were arrested by the police in Toulouse on the night of Monday to Tuesday: they were siphoning off the tank of a truck of a transport company in the Thibault area, south of the city.
A partially siphoned tank
The alleged perpetrators, from 17 to 36 years old, broke into a transporter with the idea of siphoning off the tanks of the company’s semi-trailers. But an employee ends up spotting them and puts them to flight before notifying the police who arrive quickly on the spot.
Before escaping, the five men had time to partially siphon the tank of a semi-trailer. In the action, fuel was lost and suspected on the roadway. Investigators also found equipment on site: pipes and cans which were used by the group to agree to its package.
The five men had parked away from the company parking lot so as not to be identified. It was near their car that they were arrested. They were known to the police and will be judged soon.
