The Museum of Precious Arts Paul-Dupuy reopens its doors in Toulouse
Paul Dupuy was until his death in 1944, a generous donor to the Musée du Vieux-Toulouse. Without an heir, he bequeathed by will, his hotel and his works to the city of Toulouse, which will continue to enrich the collection over time.
“When he passed away in 1944, many people in the Toulouse cultural world mourned this man of kindness, heart and art. The irruption of the Paul-Dupuy museum in the landscape of municipal museums then led the City and the State to reorganize all the Toulouse collections “, explains Francis Saint-Genez, chief curator of Heritage and director of the Museum of Precious Arts Paul-Dupuy.

After three years of work, the reopening of the Paul-Dupuy museum, now renamed “ Museum of Precious Arts Paul-Dupuy », is a new stage in the revalorization of the historical heritage of Toulouse.

The vast conservation project that was carried out in parallel with the building work has given rise to numerous restorations of these works”.
The work has made it possible to install innovative devices such as virtual tours or video and 3D animations or tactile installations easy to use for all audiences.
