A vast strike movement affects France, this Tuesday, October 18, 2022. A procession composed of an inter-union (CGT, FO, Solidaires, FSU, etc.) also meets in Toulousewhere a parade will start from Francois Verdier from 2 p.m. Follow the follow-up of the event with Toulouse news.
Why a demonstration?
As a reminder, this national strike movement brings with it several demands. The inter-union calls in particular for an increase in wages, pensions and social minima in the face of inflation which continues to climb. The defense of the right to strike is also on the agenda, while the requisition of striking employees to maintain activity in oil depots and refineries has provoked strong reactions.
2:10 p.m. Disruptions on the Tisséo network
As a reminder, with this event, the Tisséo network has been disrupted since 2 p.m.
“The Airport Shuttle as well as lines L1, L8, L9, 14, 15, 23, 29, 39 and 70 are diverted. The City Center Shuttle is suspended,” says Tisséo.
The network advises its users to prepare their trip, in particular via the route calculator and in the next passages section, available on the application.
2 p.m. Protesters gathered at François-Verdier
As expected, the demonstrators gathered in front of the monument to the glory of the combatants of Haute-Garonne, to François-Verdier. The procession is about to start.
The first figures of the rectorate
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., the Rectorate revealed the rate of participation in the strike movement. According to the Toulouse Academy, it is 3.49% in the 1st degree, 13.23% in the 2nd degree, 8.49% in colleges, 8.55% in general education high schools and technology (LEGT), and 32.38% in vocational high schools. The overall weighted average is 8.07%. This therefore concerns the departments of Haute-Garonne, Aveyron, Ariège, Gers, Lot, Hautes-Pyrénées, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne.
