Toulouse: the immense emotion of mountaineers and hikers after the death of Jean Le Corre
Experienced mountaineer, the Blagnacais Jean Le Corre, 57, died on Saturday October 15, in the Ariège Pyrenees. at Pic Peyrot (south of the Pique d’Endron) following a fall of nearly 60 meters (our previous editions). According to the French Alpine club, the tragic accident “took place on the descent on steep terrain not requiring the use of the rope. Jean Le Corre was correctly shod and was progressing at a normal pace. He stumbled”. His two companions are unharmed.
Bruno Serraz, President of the French Alpine Club of Toulouse, paid tribute to him: “Jean Le Corre had been a member of the Caf de Toulouse for more than 30 years. He was a ski touring instructor and lecturer at ANENA (National Association for the study of snow and avalanches). His knowledge of the mountains and his approach to safety on these risky terrains were recognized by all. It is a very great loss for his family, his friends and the Caf de Toulouse, where he was one of the main executives. We send our condolences to his wife and two children”.
On social networks, tributes have multiplied since Saturday evening. Jean was so careful in all his outings… The mountain and the Caf losing one of its most loyal followers”. “Jean was a magnificent person, the likes of which you rarely encounter in his life. He was as rigorous as he was concerned and attentive to others”. “He was an admirable, exemplary man. The mountain, selfish, decided to keep him prematurely like too many of our comrades”. “The few mountain experiences and exchanges that I was able to have with him will have marked me for life”.
Breton of origin, father of two children, Jean Le Corre lived in the town center of Blagnac. His funeral will take place Thursday, October 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the church of Pibrac.
