The Cercle is a hit against Eupen, Denkey shines – AS Monaco
Already winners of La Gantoise two weeks ago, the Vert et Noir largely dominated the Eupen team (5-1), their direct opponent in the standings, and thus moved up to 12th place in a very homogeneous Jupiler Pro League .
Six out of nine! After the spectacular success achieved on the lawn of La Gantoise early October (3-4), and the narrow defeat conceded against the reigning Belgian vice-champion, Union Saint-Gilloise (2-1), Cercle Brugge celebrated their return to the Jan Breydel stadium. This Saturday, the teammates of Radoslaw Majecki, author of the stop of the week the previous weekend, made a real show of force ahead of Eupen (5-1).

Popović and Marcelin, guardians of the axis
Arranged again in 3-4-1-2 for the occasion, with in particular Boris Popovic and Harisson Marcelin in central defense, the Green and Black were quick to make the powder speak. It is the former Nîmes Kévin Denkey, who thus lights the first fuse on a corner, on a deviation from his young Serbian teammate (1-0, 25th). Behind, Thibo Somers (30th) then Ayase Ueda (39th) kill almost all the suspense before halftime.
The Denkey Show in Three Acts
The reduction in the penalty difference on the part of Eupen does not change anything, since “Magic” Kevin Denkey does his show. To protect the Circle from an unlikely comeback, he delivers his partners in just ten minutes on two unstoppable strikes, which he catapults into the top corner (77th, 86th). Result, triple for the Togolese center forward, author of five goals and two assists on his last four Jupiler Pro League outings.

An event… and a breath of fresh air!
Better still, the number 9 from Bruges is only the third player from the club’s cousin AS Monaco to register a triple in the Belgian championship in the 21st century. And the first to do so at the Jan Breydel stadium since Oleg Iachtchouk in 2010, is our partner Opta. An XXL performance, which allows him to finally launch his season, and that of the Green and Black in passing.
Because with this new success, the Circle makes a link to the ranking, moving up to 12th place. A good omen, before the new trip to the field of Seraing, current 15th. Well done gentlemen!
3 – Kévin Denkey is only the 3rd player of Cercle Brugge @cercleofficial to score a triple in the Jupiler Pro League in the 21st century and the first to do so at the Jan Breydelstadion since Oleg Iachtchouk in 2010. Hats off. pic.twitter.com/K731PnYVSJ
