Chinese students learn Russian hockey in Khabarovsk
Students from China came to Khabarovsk to study at the Far Eastern Academy of Physical Culture. For a year they have to study Russian hockey, as well as other sports. They will return as professional coaches, according to the Gubernia portal.
The first group of foreign undergraduates of the academy in Khabarovsk arrived after studying at the Harbin Sports University two weeks ago. Students have already chosen Russian names. So, Gao Meng – Misha – wants to become the head coach of bandy in China. He started playing it in the student game, and even took part in the Bandy World Championship in 2018. Now he dreams of making and developing Russian hockey in Harbin.
“I want to learn more about English hockey. After all, there is a difference between approaches to learning. Russia has a more extensive program,” said Gao Meng.
Students study specialties both in theory and in practice. Despite the language barrier (the visitors do not even speak English), there are no difficulties.
“They want to work, they want to work, they skate, stick in two hands. Covid spoke about his adjustments, but still, time has not been lost that the polls are better and more interesting, ”Egor Lukyanchenko, a special teacher at the Department of Football and Hockey of the Far Eastern State Academy of Sports and Physical Culture.
Students from China were supposed to start their studies in Russia last year, but because of the pandemic, they were on a “remote” course. Now they are returning the sports uniform, which they lost due to lockdowns.
“This education and the knowledge that we give them in our academy allow them to get settled in their homeland, exactly in the professions that they receive. The significance of the diploma of the Far Eastern State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports is appreciated in China,” said Oleg Ziganshin, Head of the Department of Football and Ice Hockey of the Far Eastern State Academy of Physical Culture, Chairman of the Bandy Federation of the Khabarovsk Territory.
The next group of foreign students will arrive in Khabarovsk by the end of October. These will be undergraduates who will have to complete a two-year study, as well as continue coaching and teaching training in their country.
