Volleyball: Spacer’s Toulouse looking for “a good shot” in Poitiers this Saturday evening in Ligue A
Winners of Nice (3-1) last weekend, the Toulousains move to Poitiers, this Saturday evening, with the ambition to continue.
The Spacer’s have an appointment with the only team with Montpellier to not count any points on the clock after two days. And if we can already bet big on the fact that the outgoing French champion will not stagnate for very long in these stagnant waters, the false start of Poitiers was on the other hand more predictable with eight new players and a collective to rebuild.
From there to writing that it’s the right time to meet them, there is a step that Patrick Duflos has not, however, retained as a franchisor. “They have renewed almost all of their squad, but on paper they are a priori good players, in particular their two busy players (Concepcion and Howe, editor’s note) and their sharp Brazilian (Candido) who is very physical. And then it’s an old hall with an audience that pushes its team a lot so we know it won’t be easy” thus tempers the coach.
A room which has not been very successful for Toulouse last season since they lost there in the regular season (1-3) and in play-down (2-3) a few weeks later.
Certain guarantees in attack…
Fifteen days after a first trip to Cambrai (loss 1-3) which left the Spacers with enormous regrets, this time it will be necessary to face “a team which needs points and which is going to have the fangs” is also wary of the Toulouse technician.
“It’s not a formation that will play at the top of the table but it is a competitor for the play-offs” adds the ex-Sétois. In search of “a good shot”, the latter will be able to rely on an offensive sector which has already provided certain guarantees. In particular the two young receivers-attackers Thierry Jacuzewski (16 points) and Antoine Pothron (19pts) very complementary against Nice last weekend.
