Heber won the Bulgarian Super Cup
The two teams played an interesting match, in which Heber was the better team and deservedly reached the trophy, which is the club’s third in history. The meeting was marked by an unpleasant incident, as in the decisive moments of the fourth game, the head referee Konstantin Yovchev collapsed and the doctors of both teams had to give him first aid.
Head coach Camilo Placi’s players took an early lead of 6:3 in the first game, then managed to increase their lead to 13:6 and did not lose the initiative until the end to close the part at 25:15.
The team from Pazardzhik starts the second game strongly. The “Tigers” led with 5:2 points, which forced the playing head coach of Neftohimik Ivan Stanev to look for a timeout, but after him Heber’s lead increased to 10:4. The champions continued to dominate and opened an 11-point lead at 22:11, and shortly after closed the second half after 25:14.
Between the second and third games, fans in the “Sila” hall in Plovdiv have the opportunity to enjoy the first “Show between games” in Bulgaria, in which the music group Deep Zone Project sang some of their most popular songs.
After the 20-minute interruption of the start and the third match, Neftohimik started concentrated and led 4:1, but Heber turned to 7:6 in his favor after a successful attack against Todor Alexiev. The two teams continued to be equal, but in the middle of the game, a strong streak by Burgas opened a 17:12 lead in favor of the team led by Ivan Stanev. Neftohimik was able to keep its lead until the end of the third part and reduce its abandonment after success with 25:21 in the third game.
The fourth part begins evenly. The two teams went point for point until 6:6 when Neftohimik managed to record a series of 3 unanswered points that forced Camilo Placi to look for a break. After him, the team from Pazardzhik caught up and took the lead at 11:10. The last series of successful attacks from both sides of the net, but three consecutive wrong plays by Heber’s team allowed the Burgas to lead 17:14. However, the Tigers were able to turn around and take a 21-19 lead after a series of good serves by Jacopo Massari. In the decisive part of the game, Neftohimik equalized at 24:24.
The two teams exchanged one more point when an unpleasant incident ensued. The chief referee of the meeting of Konstantin Yovchev gathers and imposes on the doctors of both teams to give him first aid. Thus, until the end of the meeting, the second judge Chavdar Manev replaced him. After the game resumed, Heber scored two consecutive points to close the match after 27:25.
Trifon Lapkov scored the most for the success of the team from Pazardzhik with 24 points, and Todor Alexiev added 16.
Axel Truhchev was the most useful for Neftohimik with 11 points.
