At only 11 and a half years old, Kaloyan Geshev is the world champion in mental arithmetic.
Master several types of mathematical operations without fail – speed multiplication, division, rooting and calculation of days from recent dates.
“First I calculate coefficients of the date, the month and the year,” Kaloyan said in the new column “Great Hopes” on the show “This Saturday”.
He can calculate a day from data from the 17th century. It can also root up to 6-digit numbers and is among our great hopes in mental arithmetic. At the beginning of the month, he became world champion at the championship in Bielefeld, Germany, in his age group.
“You have 56 users from 13 countries. Two hours were given for 26 sheets and there were about three four sheets of surprises,” he added.
Kaloyan beat participants from India, Japan, Algeria and many others. The expected “surprises” from the championship have not managed to impress him.
Solves everything in under two hours.
“In order to achieve these results, you need to have talent and desire, but you can’t count on talent alone – you also need training,” added the world champion in mental arithmetic.
“I want to become a teacher of mathematics, calculus and simple mathematics. I still deal with it and I want it to have an effect and benefit,” Kaloyan shared.
