Gap beaten by Cergy-Pontoise, Rouen new leader of Ligue Magnus
Gap, who led the Magnus League before Friday’s matches kicked off for the 11th day, lost its leading position. At home, the Raptors lost to the Cergy-Pontoise Jokers (3-2). Bostjan Golicic had opened the score for the Gapençais, after five minutes. But Loïc Farnier, Gage Torrel and Thomas Suire allowed the visitors to lead. Gap could then only close the gap.
At the same time, Rouen went to win at Amiens (6-5). The Dragons have been in the lead several times, carried by a super François Beauchemin, four times scorer, but they only scored the winning goal three minutes from the end, by Dylan Yéo. The Normans now have the same number of points as Gap, but have gone ahead on goal difference.
Briançon’s first victory
Briançon beat Bordeaux (6-4), signing its first victory of the season. The Girondins led 3-1 in the second period before yielding against the Red Devils. Finally Grenoble dominated Chamonix (5-2), in a late match of the eighth day. The Brûleurs de Loups, reigning French champions, are fourth in the standings, but have several matches less, due to their career in the Champions League.
Currently in the Continental Cup, Angers played their match of the 11th day two weeks ago and beat Anglet (5-1). Mulhouse and Nice did not play on Friday. They will face Chamonix and Grenoble on October 30.
