Before facing Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Elie Okobo looks back on his debut at AS Monaco.
This Thursday evening, AS Monaco receives the reigning double European champion, Anadolu Efes Istanbul. While the Turks will be without playmaker/back Shane Larkin, who is recovering from finger surgery, the Roca Team should be able to field one of their star signings, French international Elie Okobo. The 2022 French champion had more fear than harm on Sunday when he twisted his ankle against BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque.
“The ankle is fine,” he explains. on the AS Monaco website. I did an ultrasound and it’s nothing serious, and I’m going to do an MRI to be sure. If all goes well, I will definitely be there to face Anadolu on Thursday. »
AS Monaco’s start to the season is going well with 5 wins in 5 games.
“We are in the right tempo, believes Elie Okobo. And on top of that, we still have a lot of work to do and a huge margin for improvement. We have to show more regularity on the floor, like this last match against Gravelines. We can’t afford that in the EuroLeague, because it could be fatal to us. We want to step up, and we work hard to get there. There will be ups and definitely downs. It is up to us to always remain united throughout this exercise. »
Entre-deux at 7 p.m. this Thursday evening at the Gaston-Médecin room. The game will not be broadcast by La Chaîne L’Équipe.
