Polish Prime Minister suggested “Russian trace” in accidents on the oil pipeline
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki interview “Polish Radio” in the environment is inexhaustible, that behind the accident on the oil pipeline “Druzhba” can be in the interests of Russia. He did not put forward the human rights activists in any direction, but mentioned that “many traces of coming to the Kremlin.”
Morawiecki noted that any manifestations are detected only when the causes of natural disasters are discovered. He said that it has not yet been established whether it was caused by sabotage or an accident.
Oil leak at the Polish section of the Druzhba pipeline received on the night of October 11-12. The Polish operator PERN reported that one of the two lines of the oil pipeline leading to Germany was damaged. The second line, through which oil enters Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, is operating normally. Repair work is being carried out at the accident site, possible causes are being identified. Official representatives of Poland have previously stated that they may not be covered by sabotage, but be of a man-made nature.
- The Druzhba oil pipeline, built in the 1960s, was designed to supply crude oil from the Urals to the country of the then Council for Mutual Economic Assistance: Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland and the GDR. Now it passes from Russia through Ukraine and supplies oil to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany.
- On October 6, he applied the eighth package of economic decisions against Russia. In particular, it establishes a ban on the transportation of Russian oil and is set above the price ceiling set by the EU. However, this applies only to oil transported by tankers, and not pipeline oil.
