Grenoble, Chambéry, Annecy… Where to find petrol and diesel at service stations in the Northern Alps
Many service stations in Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie remain out of stock this Wednesday. Despite the requisition of personnel ordered by the government, the strike is renewed in the refineries. Filling up with gasoline or diesel remains complicated. With our map updated in real time, here is where you can find fuel.
Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie are experiencing “supply difficulties” since Tuesday, October 11, according to the prefectures of the three departments. Finding gasoline or diesel is not easy. Near Grenoble, Chambéry, Annecy and other major Alpine towns, some service stations are partially or totally out of stock this Wednesday, October 12, despite restocking at certain points of sale.
Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced on Tuesday the requisition of striking personnel to unblock Esso-ExxonMobil fuel depots. This decision is judged “illegal” by the CGT. At TotalEnergies, the situation remains at a standstill. And in the stations, the queues are getting longer.
The three Alpine departments are not located “in a situation of shortage”, say the prefects. The map below, updated every 30 minutes, shows the service stations where it is still possible to refuel:
This map is made from government data on the site fuel-prices.gouv.fr. In red, are designated the stations in a state of shortage. Diesel and gasoline are displayed in yellow and green. To display more petrol stations near you, it is possible to “zoom in” on the map.
En also by clicking on the points, you can consult the prices applied in each station. The information, however, may not accurately reflect the reality of the situation presented at the pump.
Other important information: since Tuesday, October 11, it is forbidden to fill jerry cans at the pump in the three departments of the Northern Alps, in a context of tension on fuel supplies.
