Fouras outclasses Monaco in the Principality
By Jean-Luc Richard
Fouras did not tremble. After their 8-1 victory against Monaco, one of the group favorites, the players from the peninsula take the lead alongside Pontault-Combault
On Saturday October 8, the players from the peninsula dominated the Monegasques by winning with a wide score of 8 to 1. Damien Provost, who played for three seasons, from 2013 to 2016, in the national team 1 of the Principality, knows the place well and has been able to guide his teammates so that they evolve in the best conditions.
During the first round of singles, Paul Gauzy (n°101) got the game off to a good start by beating Anthony Géminiani (n°143), 3 sets to 1. Gaëtan Renaudon (n°244) performed well ahead of Anthony Peretti (n° 186), which he beats nicely. At 2-0, Damien Provost and Loïc Bobillier logically won ahead of Marin Tiso and Lorenzo Cortese. In the second round, only Renaudon lost a match against Anthony Géminiani (7-1). The point of victory is finally obtained by the double Bobillier – Renaudon in front of the tandem Géminiani – Cortese.
After the defeat at Issy-les-Moulineaux against Saint-Quentin, the Fourasine team took first place in the pool with Pontault-Combault, winner of Montfort. During the third day, Saturday October 22 at 4:45 p.m. at the Roger-Rondeaux sports complex, the Fourasins defeated the Douai Nordists with the aim of consolidating their first place.
