The numbers of sharing
In the field of sharing, the habits of the Romans have shifted from cars to e-bikes and scooters. From January to June of this year, for example, demand for rental bikes increased by 90%. Not surprisingly, the operators offering these vehicles are the most numerous in the city: there are seven, for a total of 14,500 vehicles available on the territory (incredible figures in proportion to the other shared vehicles).
The issues
Continued growth, however, is accompanied by several problems, still painstakingly open. The strong presence, above all, of scooters has caused various inconveniences, highlighting the safety those who use these vehicles and other road users (and with many minors involved) e incorrect use scooter, left badly parked. Last June, Mayor Gualtieri approved a guideline for the sharing services of scooters and e-bikes, but the continuity problems. However, other interventions are planned. Starting from 2023, in fact, a new call will cause scooter operators to drop from 7 to 3, resulting in vehicles (from 14.5 thousand to 9 thousand), distributed more evenly in the city. A cut also for e-bikes which will go from 12.5 thousand to 9 thousand.
