Raising awareness of light pollution
Supported by the association Act for the environmentthis national operation aims to raise public awareness of the light pollutionto the protection of nocturnal biodiversity and the starry sky.
The consequences of excessive artificial lighting are not limited to the deprivation of observation of the starry sky. They are also a source of disruption for biodiversity and represent a considerable waste of energy.

For the occasion, the Notre-Dame cathedral will be plunged into darkness, Saturday October 15, from 9.30 p.m. The City will also turn off the lights of several other buildings, from Friday October 14 at 8 p.m. until the morning of Monday 17: the churches of Saint-Sever, Saint-Maclou, Saint-Clément, Sainte-Catherine, the church of the Madeleine, the Saint-Ouen abbey, the facade of the Gros Horloge, the stained glass windows of the Jeanne-d’Arc church, the facades of the town hall, the Charlotte-Delbo municipal center, the Giraudoux gymnasium and the Halle to the canvases.
