The third Toulouse metro line should be called line C
Continuing on from what already exists, the third line of the Toulouse metro, which is expected to come into service in 2028, should be line C.
Contrary to what Tisséo’s communications show, the third Toulouse metro line will not be called “third line”. It should be called line C, in the continuity of what already exists. But nothing is official yet, specifies Jean-Michel Lattes, the president of Tisséo Collectivités, contracting authority of the new line, in the columns of The Midi Dispatch.
The Toulouse metro network will therefore be made up of line A, opened in 1993, line B, introduced in 2007, and therefore a line C, whose commissioning is expected for 2028.
There is already a line C
However, there is an obstacle to this appellation. There is already a line C in the Toulouse conurbation. On the other hand, it is not used by Tisséo, but by the SNCF. This is the train line dependent Les Arènes in Colomiers. It is used by 4,000 passengers per day.
A study is underway to eliminate this concern. The two transport operators are partners on this line, which travelers can take with their Pastel card. Communication should be put in place to make Les Arènes-Colomiers better known.
Toulouse third line stations
In addition to the official name of the third metro line, Tisséo will focus from the end of October on the name of the 21 stations on the route. The subject was briefly mentioned during the union council of the public transport operator of the Toulouse metropolis on Wednesday February 16. The names indicated on the cards of the third are only provisional. These are “technical names”.
